Episode 210 and 211 update

I am just wrapping up end of the year paperwork and closing up my classroom for summer. I was hoping to post a show tonight but will have to finish tomorrow.

I am working on 2 episodes for the next 7 days.

210 will be speeding bullets on Secret Six, Magog, Red Robin, DC Legacies, I Zombie, American Vampire, JSA All Stars, Justice Society of America, the Shield, Booster Gold, and some quick follow ups from forum discussions.

211 will be JLA/Avengers issue 2.

Over 5 hours of content in two shows in 7 days.

Summer is here and we have big things planned.

New show up by Wednesday at the latest: Sean’s report card week

Hey all,

Longtime listeners know that late May and early June are my end of the year report cards for my students. I will be wrapping these up Monday or Tuesday and will work on the show when they are complete.

That will put the new episode of the show out Tuesday or Wednesday.

This week we’ll be talking about current books via speeding bullets again and continuing our look at JLA/Avengers as we start to discuss issue #2.

Thanks for you patience. The schedule will return to normal after this week.

JokerFish #04: Say “Kalamazoo” To Save The World

I have a strange relationship with the supernatural side of the DC universe.

When I first ventured confidently into the world of comics half a decade ago, I probably would have told you that my favorite DC characters were Batman, Green Arrow, The Joker, Deathstroke, the Bat Family… the street-level characters. For me, there was something much more interesting about the idea of superheroes with semi-realistic and theoretically attainable powers. Overpowered characters like Superman or The Hulk never held much resonance with me; they could win any battle by smashing things, or solve mysteries just by looking through walls. Batman had to think, strategize, plot, discover and analyze. Bruce Wayne was human, and when I was a kid, the unwritten promise was that I could be Batman one day too if only I tried hard enough.
